About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of backend systems and cloud infrastructure. This is a high-impact role with ownership over backend architecture, data modeling, cloud environments, and DevOps workflows that power the core platform.
In this role, you'll work hands-on with TypeScript and NestJS to deliver scalable backend services, while owning AWS infrastructure end-to-end. You'll collaborate closely with other engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and help shape backend standards as the platform grows.
What You'll Do
- •Lead backend architecture and implementation using TypeScript and NestJS
- •Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and platform APIs
- •Drive data modeling, schema evolution, and query optimization in Postgres
- •Design and implement clean, reliable, and well-documented REST APIs
- •Own AWS infrastructure end-to-end, including ECS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, SQS, VPC, IAM, KMS, and CloudWatch
- •Manage multi-environment setups, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and secure role-based access
- •Improve local development workflows, tooling, environment parity, and system reliability
- •Support platform integrations, backend reliability, and operational excellence
- •Mentor other engineers and help define backend best practices and standards
- •Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver stable, production-ready systems
What We're Looking For
- •Senior-staff level experience in backend software engineering
- •Strong expertise in TypeScript, NestJS, and backend system design
- •Deep experience with AWS cloud architecture, infrastructure patterns, and scaling strategies
- •Strong understanding of IAM, security best practices, and cloud cost/performance trade-offs
- •Solid experience with Postgres, including data modeling and performance optimization
- •Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs
- •Experience owning production systems, debugging complex issues, and shipping reliably
- •Comfort operating autonomously in a fast-moving environment
- •Strong communication skills and a collaborative, ownership-driven mindset
- •Willingness and ability to mentor other engineers and influence technical direction
